Belleville Riding Academy exists in a fictional town called Belleville in Maryland. A little past Annapolis the town still carries the old colonial feel as if you've stepped back in time. Belleville still has the cobblestone streets and colonial buildings.
Belleville Riding Academy wasn't always a riding academy. During the 1700s it was a plantation with hundreds of acreage. It had been in the Worthing family since they had came to the Thirteen Colonies. Even after the Civil War nothing changed. The Worthing's didn't own slaves but rather employed African Americans as well as Caucasians some of whom were employed to pay off their debt for being given a chance to come to a new land away from where they had previously been. Everyone had their freedom and while some left once the Civil War was over to go see their family while others stayed employed happy at the plantation. The plantation stayed in the Worthing family until the 2000s when the last remaining member of the Worthing descendants died. Sarah had been trailering a horse to Belleville Stables which had been the Worthing plantation when their truck and trailer was crushed by a semi truck. Both Sarah and the horse had died instantly from the impact. Sarah Johnson had been a single mother ever since her husband Joshua had died. She had a teenager named Rebecca and a son named Karl. Both children became wards of the state of Maryland. The state turned the world renowned stables into a riding academy which both children would attend.
However before the stables was turned into a riding academy the children were adopted and never went there. It took 5 years until the renovations were complete. A few buildings were added though no one touched the colonial buildings or cobblestone streets that had been there since the 1700s. Teachers come from all over to teach at this elite academy and students flock from all over the world to get the best education they can and maybe become world famous riders. Students have an opportunity to have fame, fortune, and more. Will you succeed? Or will you break under the pressure?
